Saturday Lottery Karunya Prize Structure
The Kerala Lottery Scheme features the Karunya lottery, which is drawn every Saturday and gives participants a chance to win one of three major prizes. The top prize is an impressive sum of Rs. 80,00,000 that goes to one lucky winner, while the second prize of Rs. 5,00,000 is awarded to another fortunate individual. Additionally, there is a third prize of Rs. 1,00,000 that is shared among twelve winners. However, it’s important to note that the first three prizes are only available to those whose 8 alphanumerical digits on the ticket match the serial number exactly. To participate in the KR lottery ticket system, one must purchase a ticket that bears a unique six-digit number with two alphabets such as XX 000000. The fourth through eighth prizes are given to individuals whose last four digits match the respective numbers drawn and are worth Rs. 5000, Rs. 2000, Rs. 1000, Rs. 500, and Rs. 100, respectively.

Kerala Karunya Prize Claim Procedure
Winners of the Kerala Karunya Prize are required to claim their prize within 30 days of the draw. To do so, the first and second winning ticket, as well as all necessary documents, must be presented in person to the Director of State Lotteries or sent via insured registered post or Nationalised, Scheduled Banks, State, or District Co-operative Banks.
If the prize amount is less than Rs.1,00,000, the winner may claim their prize from Lottery sub-offices or District Lottery Offices. However, if the winner resides outside of Kerala and their prize exceeds Rs.1,00,000, they must present their claim before the Director of State Lotteries. The winner must sign their name on the back of the ticket in the designated space. Payment will only be made once the authenticity of the ticket has been validated with counterfoils or other means determined by the Director. Claims for damaged or tampered tickets will not be accepted. It is important to note that each ticket is only eligible for the highest prize awarded.
Under the Finance Act (Central), Income Tax and Surcharge, if applicable, will be deducted from the prize money at the source.
