The Kerala Lotteries Department takes charge of organizing the weekly lottery draws that happen each day of the week, starting from Monday and ending on Sunday. But, should any unexpected incidents occur, the Department has the authority to call off or delay a weekly or bumper draw. It is worth mentioning that there won’t be any weekly draws on significant regional holidays and National holidays in Kerala.

Saturday Lottery Karunya Prize Structure

Every Saturday, the Kerala Lottery Scheme conducts a lucky draw for the Karunya lottery. It offers an attractive prize structure of three significant prizes to the lucky winners. The top prize is an astounding sum of Rs. 80,00,000 granted to one winner. In addition to that, there is a second prize of Rs. 5,00,000 and a third prize of Rs. 1,00,000 shared among twelve winners. However, it’s important to note that the first three prizes are only valid if the eight alphanumerical digits on the ticket match the serial number precisely. The KR lottery ticket number system follows a unique structure where each ticket bears a six-digit number with two alphabets such as XX 000000. If your last four digits match the respective numbers drawn, you stand a chance to win the fourth to eighth prizes, which are Rs. 5000, Rs. 2000, Rs. 1000, Rs.500 and Rs. 100, respectively.

Kerala Karunya Prize Claim Procedure

To claim the Kerala Karunya Prize, winners must submit their claims within 30 days of the draw. The first and second winning tickets, accompanied by the required documentation, must be presented in person to the Director of State Lotteries or sent through an insured registered post, Nationalised, Scheduled Banks, State, or District Co-operative Banks.

Prize amounts up to Rs.1,00,000 can be claimed at the Lottery sub-offices or District Lottery Offices. However, winners residing outside of Kerala and whose prize claims exceed Rs.1,00,000 must present their claims before the Director of State Lotteries. The winners must sign their name on the back of the ticket in the designated area.

The prize money will only be paid out after the authenticity of the ticket has been validated with counterfoils or any other means determined by the Director. Claims made for mutilated or tampered tickets will not be accepted. It is important to note that each ticket is only eligible to win the highest prize awarded on it.

As per the Finance Act (Central), income tax and surcharge, if applicable, will be deducted at source from the prize money.
